Being a crocheter with over 35 years of experience, I still enjoy trying projects thatare new to me. I saw an ad to order fabric bundles from Rags to Rugs which included the directions, was intrigued, and placed my order. I loved, loved, loved the color combination when I received my order and opened the box and immediately started my rug. I couldn't believe how well written the pattern was and how perfect my rug turned out! I love it so much, it's featured in my "header" on my Facebook page. Thank you Lora and associates, I'm now considering joining your Bundle of the Month club!
I so love making your rugs I am having a party! My first attempt at teaching, but I have the perfect DVD as an aide. I am making rugs for Christmas presents. I would love to win the fabric to send to my sister who is on a fixed income but would love to make a rag rug. I tell you it is catching! Sandra McDevitt
Love my rug kit. Your rugs are beautiful.
I love all your different fabric choices. I am planning on joining up with your Fabric of the month club. Thank you for helping me to learn this new fun hobby!!
I have been looking for instruction and materials to make rag rugs for a year. Thank you for being here, my searching can finally end.
I cannot ever sing enough praises about your kits and fabric lines, which i am slowly working my way through. Thank you for a wondefful product and i love the new cheat sheet cards. I laminated mine and my daughters. Perfect, perfect.
I am just leaving on vacation, but as soon as I get back I am ordering my first kit. What a great thing. I can hardly wait!
Love, Love my kitchen rugs!
I'm hooked! Just finished my second rug and can hardly wait to start another one. I do hope you will add another Christmas bundle soon... I like to start early! Please don't raise your prices again as your bundles are beautiful and so convenient.
Just wanted to say how really pleased I am to have found your ad in the Country Sampler. I'm having a tough decision here - which fabric colours, which size, do I try to do it myself or have you make it - sigh, decisions, decisions! You do beautiful work, your selection seems endless and all the beautiful rugs that customers have sent photos of just convinces me more that your site is the one I've been looking for. Thank you.
Lora,I am in the process of making my 8th Rag Rug. I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful kits,DVD and all the beautiful fabric options and most of all the patience you have with my "please help me" phone calls. I am one very pleased and happy customer.
Love the fabric bundles. I use them to make hot pads for my Corian cabinets. Would LOVE a red, white and blue fabric bundle. I have "seasonal" hot pads, lol.
What a beautiful site. Found your ad recently in Country sample magazine. Will order soon.
Wow! What a difference the dvd made for me. That and the cheat sheet made my this so much quicker and easier. I love it. I have made about 4 rugs before using the dvd, and 2 with. I just can't stop! These rugs are the best, easiest, and greatest gifts to give to yourself or anyone else. If anyone is thinking about it, but just can't quite decide, let me tell you the price is so worth it! You will wonder what took you so long to make this purchase. Thank you, Lora!
I have to admit.. I'm addicted. I have made three rugs so far and plan to make a million more! You're DVD was most informative, very easy to follow and helped to teach me to make them just right. I have since shared it with my mom who is also loving the rug making. We have been discussing the idea of selling them on consignment in a couple of our local "country/craft" shops. You can only make so many for your self and for gifts and then you have to find a way to share them so you can keep making more! Thank you so much for sending me a second video when the first was not working. And thank you too, for sharing all your knowledge of rug making. It has truly opened up a new world to me!
I have made ten of your rugs. Love, love, love them. I nearly panic when I finish one and don't have another kit waiting. I am wanting to try making rag rugs using some type of webbing for a base. Plan to use my left over fabric by cutting it into 6 inch strips and using a latch hook to attach it. I don't know what I did before I found your website. Again, I love, love, love it.
My kids are on winter break this week so im gonna start my rug project and I hope it comes out as beautiful as yours do.
I really love making rag rugs. I have worked as a Graphic Designer for the past 30 years for may clients around the country. I am retired from Graphic Design work unless a friend or a favorite past client ask for a favor. I do all crafts (including all needlework, painting, knitting, crochet, and unfortunately many more as there is not enough time to do them all. I have also taught many of these crafts. I learned to make rag rugs starting with toothbrush rugs about 20 years ago in Tacoma, WA visiting a friend of my sister. You have the best fabric and supplies that I have found since I started making rugs. I really like your website.
Hi Lora - I wanted to take a moment to thank you for including the instructional DVD in my order. I had great aspirations of tackling this on my own, and started on Tuesday evening (without watching the DVD)... I was having a little trouble with it but figured it was just because I needed to get used to the fabric instead of yarn... last night, I popped the DVD in to take a look and WOW - what a great tool! Your 'cheat sheet' is amazing and is making the whole process so much more enjoyable by not having to count stitches! It's awesome! Plus, I was able to see exactly how you were doing your stitches, and saw I needed to make an adjustment to mine... so, I ripped out what I had done Tuesday, and tackled it again - this time with MUCH better results! I'm so excited to work on this and love seeing it come together. I am a busy working mom of two little ones, and am a quilter... but I can see where this could quickly become one of my new favorite things to do! I love how your technique is 'distraction proof', as my time is limited and often interrupted! Thanks again for including the DVD and great instructions. I look forward to sharing my finished rug pictures when I have it completed, and look forward to ordering from you again!
I love my rag rug. I got the vintage rug, and it is beautiful. I have since then ordered 2 flannel rug kits, (almost have one finished) and made another from scraps. WOW!!! what a fun hobby!! I collect antiques and primitives, so these rugs are just the thing. Also great gifts. The instructions and DVD are fantastic, and the quality of the fabric is terrific. Thanks sooooooo much!!
I have been looking to make one of your rugs and I get so excited about them all that I can't choose which one to start with. Any suggestions??
Have had so much fun making rugs. Bought all new fabric and stripped it for one in my bedroom, made one for my sister in law for Christmas. I tried to make it rectangular and had watched the video twice before loaning it out, but apparently I didn't understand because after about 7 rows I had a giant dog bone. I tore it all out and made it oval. Tried again out of stripped and dyed sheets and success! Now I am making one out of all pinks and nuetrals for a friend who has breast cancer. I'm going to overlay or weave in a pink ribbon. I'll send pics. LOVE THIS!
So intrigued of learning something new to use up fabrics I have left over from years of quilting. This is the best site I've found and after the holidays really wanting to get into this...thanks for the crochet theme, seems so much easier than the "toothbrush" method.
I bought a rug kit and absolutely love it. The colors are wonderful and it looked so beautiful in my kitchen. I am hoping to get more to add to other areas of my house. I love that there are so many choices to choose from and most of the work is done...the strips are cut! This is a great place to get all your rug making needs.
I'm a quilter and I wanted to try something new. A friend mentioned rag rugs so I searched the web and found your site. I ordered the kit with the DVD and I have to say WOW! Simple easy and so much fun. Now everybody I make a quilt for can even get a coordinating rug. Also I have liked your Facebook page and am sending the ling to all my friends :)
Looking forward to learning!
I love making the crocheted rugs. I would like to try the weaving now. Your fabrics are beautiful
I saw your add in Country Sampler Magazine. I've always wanted to try to make a rag rug. The colors in your kits look so nice, I love the reds. I need the DVD to show me how to do this. It's a winter project I would very much like to try. All of your kits are put together with the material and the colors so nicely.
I have 3 of your rugs and have been enjoying them for a couple of years
I never thought I would be able to crochet my own rug. I was able to figure it out and it turned out great!!! I'm planning on ordering another one. They even offered to start it for me, which they did and I was able to follow. It's easy, fun, relaxing and rewarding. I can't wait to get another. Would love to try and make my own placemats. Please enter me in your drawing.
Finished my rug, what fun, it is beautiful. Anxious to make another. Blessings to you.
I am having the time of my life. I am making my Christmas gifts this year. I love the rugs and how they look. I redid my husband's bathroom in red, black, and white. I bought the red kits. They look fantastic. Thank you.
