Purchased one of the larger hooks (L is the approximate size) ,I love it. And I am going to have to start replacing my tulip hooks with these. They are smooth and have a nice thumb rest. I don't have a lot of strength in my forearms or hands. This hook made it much easier to go into stitches. The Susan Bates hook is larger around than this wood hook, making it much more comfortable to hold. I need to learn how to adjust my tension again
